Simple Pleasures Papercrafting Retreat

Today I have the pleasure of spending time with my Close To My Heart sister consultants in Pennsylvania at the Simple Pleasures Papercrafting group retreat.  I can't begin to explain what an amazing time this event is.  Here are a few little projects that we are making with the Brushed paper pack today.  I created these little 3x3 cards and each lady made them.  I learned a lot too.  We have had a fabulous lesson in ShinHan markers, created She Art, made a mini album with Picture My Life cards, created scrapbook layouts and so much more.  I feel like I have met an amazing group of ladies that will now be my lifelong friends.
Would you love to participate in great events like this.  You can!  Please consider joining my team.  For only a $99 investment, you can select either a scrapbook or card kit, each with a value exceeding $370 dollars.  Not only will you be getting great products and supplies to help you build your dream projects for nearly 75% off retail, but most importantly, you will have the opportunity to participate in amazing events!  Don't miss out on the fun any longer.  Please feel free to click here and learn more about our consultant kits and opportunity.

CTMH This Moment and Brushed Paper Pack

I can't get enough of the January Stamp of the Month from CTMH, This Moment.  "LOVE notes" was stamped from that set.  I decided to use the CTMH Brushed paper pack too.  I ran that beautiful Pixie Pink and Candy patterned cardstock through my Cuttlebug with my CTMH Heart Embossing Folder.  The little paper flowers were cut using my CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge, layered and embellished with a Gold Glitter Gem.  I love the way the card turned out, it is so soft and sweet looking.  It isn't too late to get your own This Moment stamp set.  It can be yours for only $5 until the end of the month with a qualifying purchase.  Click here to begin shopping with me.

CTMH Heartstrings Layout featuring CTMH This Moment

It is a dreary day here, and I have been working on my class kits for this Saturday's crop all day.  I thought that I would take a break and share a layout that I just completed featuring the January Stamp of the month from CTMH called This Moment and this really fun CTMH Heartstrings paper pack.  I drew my inspiration for this layout from a Pinterest post from "twoscrapbookfriends".  I thought it would be fun to recreate it with CTMH products, including our exclusive CTMH Cricut Cartridges.  I added some Black Glitter Paper for the little heart and the "Smitten" title.  Most of my images were also stamped in Black for that unexpected contrast that might surprise you with this very romantic paper.  And did you notice the sweet embellishments?  They include Stuck On You Puffies and Pixie Extra Thick Twine to name a few.  I hope you enjoy this layout as much as I do!

CTMH Snowhaven Cards for the Joyful Stars Blog Hop January 2015

Welcome to the January Joyful Stars Blog Hop!  If you found your way here from Crystal's blog, you are on the right track.

I am so glad that you decided to stop by and see what I have been working on.  This month's entries all feature the vibrant CTMH Snowhaven paper pack.

This first card is made from one of our CTMH White Daisy Spin Cards.  I stamped the sayings, trees and snowflakes using the stampset from the CTMH Snowhaven Cardmaking Workshop On the Go.  The cute little Red Enamel Hearts came in that kit too, but can be purchased separately as well.  The snowflake elements on the spinner and the scalloped frame were cut from the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge, an oldie but goodie!
Next up is this stunning glacier and black floral card.  The floral overlay was cut using the CTMH Artfully Sent Cartridge.  Some of our Gold Bling Gems and Black Striped Twill Ribbon complete this simple, yet impactful card.
The last little 3"x3" card was so fun to make.  I cut a 1.5"x3" strip off of the front my card.  It was this piece that I then turned sideways and attached the sentiment to.  That sentiment was stamped using one of my favorite stamp sets, Lovely Birthday.   That adorable little flower was also stamped from the same set using two different scraps of paper.  I pop dotted the layers and added a little Clear Sparkle.  Again, very easy and I love it.

Well that is it for this month's Joyful Stars Blog Hop.  Feel free to follow my blog if you want to keep up with all my crafty adventures.  Next on the hop is my very good friend, the talented Lori "Crafty Meadows".  Have fun hopping!

CTMH Year Noted + CTMH This Moment = Cards!

I managed to squeeze in a little more creative time after completing my last layout.  Remember that CTMH Year Noted paper pack and CTMH This Moment January Stamp of the Month?  Well, I had plenty of paper left over and I decided to create these 3 cards. A little strip of Gold Glitter paper punched with our Scallop Border Punch and a little Gold Polka Dot Washi Tape add the little bit of bling to make these cards pop.  The cute little hearts were cut using the CTMH Artbooking Cricut Cartridge and embossed with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  I hope you like them!  I did have to add the 3 white card bases, but I still have cardstock left over to make something else with.
So stay tuned.

Layout Featuring CTMH January 2015 Specials

It is the beginning of 2015, and I am hoping to be a better blogger this year!  So I thought I would start you off with a project featuring 2 of this month's CTMH specials.

The "Year Noted" Kit features 6 - 12" x 12" pieces of cardstock, a ton of gold metal stickers and a stamp set all for only $5 with a qualifying purchase.  (You can add a My Creations Kraft Mini Album for just $5 more.)

I also used this adorable CTMH This Moment stamp set.  It too is just $5 in January with a qualifying purchase.

To create the layout I started by cutting apart one of my 12"x12" sheets to create the individual patterned pieces that are all approximately 4"x6".  I used the zip strips that are attached to the tops of all CTMH patterned cardstock as my accents.  I felt the kit needed an element to match those great metallic hearts that you see above, so I pulled out one of my favorite things from CTMH, our Glitter Paper.  I used the gold sheet from our brown assortment and cut out the "Capture the Details" title with our CTMH Artbooking Cricut Cartridge.  I also cut strips and edged them with our Scalloped Border Punch.  The cute little heart overlay was also cut from my Artbooking.

Joyful Hearts Blog Hop for December 2014

Welcome to my blog and the Joyful Stars blog hop for December 2014.  If you landed here from Cindy's blog, you are on the right path.

This month I have a very easy layout to share with you.  My background papers are from a CTMH paper pack called Yuletide.  Do you see the cranberry garland element on the left side of the layout?  It is actually a card cut from our new CTMH Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge!  The inside of the card made a great spot to create a 5"x7" photo mat.  Clever, right???  I also created 2 - 4"x6" photo mats out of cranberry cardstock for the right side of my layout.  A little Cranberry Striped Twill Ribbon for the bows and a Gold Bling Gem on the little envelope on the right side of the layout add just the right embellishment.  And as for that little envelope and all of the other little pieces of artwork and saying cards are just a sampling of what you will receive inside a package of My Crush Holiday Happenings Assortment.  I love taking items, like the My Crush, and creating something unexpected with them, such as this traditional layout.

I hope that you have enjoyed your time at my blog for this month's hop.  Please hop on back to Joyce's blog to see her amazing artwork.  See you next month!

CTMH Artfully Sent Candy Corn Kisses Layout

I had to come up with a quick and easy layout to teach at a crop on Saturday, and I really wanted to show my group of scrapbookers that the new CTMH Artfully Sent cartridge was for so much more than cardmaking.  I decided to include 3 different elements from the cartridge.  The "Candy Corn Kisses" element is actually made from a card, and I decided to use only the front of it as my title.  The "Eat, Drink and be Scary" element is actually a pocket card element that I decided to use other than in a PL or PML application.  Lastly, the spooky tree was just one of the countless images included on the new cartridge for our cutting enjoyment.  A little CTMH Silver Geometric Washi Tape and some Silver Sequins give some finishing touches. I should also mention that this layout features some long retired CTMH paper, as I have this in bulk and decided it would be a perfect background to the Artfully Sent elements.  Never stop looking at your images in different ways.  You never know what you might come up with!

Artfully Sent Baby Shower for the October Joyful Stars Blog Hop

Welcome to the Joyful Stars Blog Hop for October.  If you have come here from Jolene's blog, you are on the right track.  Today's projects are from the new CTMH Artfully sent cartridge.  I made these cards for my cousins' baby shower last weekend.  They are both expecting baby girls.  I started with the same card base, but made them a little different.  The flowers were cut from the original CTMH cartridge, Art Philosophy.  They were so fun to create, and they were a huge hit with all the ladies attending the baby shower.

I hope you enjoy the cards.  Now it's time to hop along to the very talented Nancy's blog.

Joyful Stars Blog Hop - CTMH Pathfinding Pie Card

Welcome to the Joyful Stars Blog Hop for September.  If you have arrived here from Lori's blog, you are on the right path.  Today's project is a pie card made with CTMH Pathfinding paper.  Using the Cricut Craft Room and my CTMH Artbooking Cartridge, I was able to modify an overlay to create the lattice on top of my pie.  Some adorable flowers from my CTMH Art Philosophy completed the look. I love how the cards turned out, don't you?
Thanks for stopping by.  Please hop over to see what the very talented Helen has in store.

CTMH Pathfinding 3 x 3 Card for the Joyful Stars August Blog Hop

Another month has passed, and it is now time for the August Joyful Stars Blog Hop already.  If you arrived here from my fellow hopper Jolene's blog, at Jolene's Paper Trail, you are on the right track.
I would like to share one of my recent swap projects with you.  I needed to make a 3 x 3 card as one of my projects.  It features one of my favorite paper packs, Pathfinding.  I always tend to make very flowery type of projects, so I tried really hard to make a card that stayed away from any trace of a flower.  That is not an easy thing for me to do!  Anyway, this cute little card features Bronze Shimmer Trim, Scallop Border Punch, and the upcoming November Stamp of the Month called "It's the Little Things".  I really like the simplicity of this card.  It would be easy to reproduce with any CTMH paper pack.  I hope that you have enjoyed your stop here at GIRLplusPAPER, and if so, become one of my blog followers to keep up with all of my papercrafting adventures.
Now, hop on back to where all of the action starts by visiting the very talented Joyce at her Joyful Creations blog.

CTMH What a Hoot, featuring Scaredy Cat and Yuletide paper

I have been having such a blast creating with just a handful of the brand new products in the new CTMH Annual Inspirations idea book and catalog.  The project that I am featuring today is made with the August Stamp of the Month, What a Hoot.  (With a retail value of $17.95, it can be yours for only $5 with a qualifying purchase of $50 during the month of August.)  I began stamping the owl and pumpkins on our brand new CTMH Scaredy Cat paper.  I did several layers for the owl which I then cut apart and pop dotted for more dimension.   I wanted a more muted background than Scaredy Cat provided, so I pulled out my Yuletide paper.  Yes, I added Christmas paper!  The champagne and ivy colored background layers are papers from our new CTMH Yuletide paper, but the really round out the card, don't you agree?  I stamped the sentiment from the What a Hoot SOTM set right onto the background, and then once again onto a scrap of ivy.  I fussy cut out the HOOT and layered them onto the background stamp to create the contrast.  I finished up the card with some Topiary Mini Chevron Ribbon and Gold Assortment Sequins.

Remember the August Stamp of the Month, What a Hoot, can only be purchased during the month of August, and then it is gone forever!  Be sure to get yours now!!!

Thanks for hopping with me today on the New Product Blog Hop.

CTMH Scaredy Cat Card - New Product Blog Hop

Thank you for visiting me on the New Product Blog Hop!  I would like to share a card that I made with Scaredy Cat, a brand new paper pack from CTMH.

To create the card, I simply hand cut the spooky house right out of my patterned paper.  I then used the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out the black image behind the house.  I simply layered the image and shape onto some more of the Scaredy Cat patterned paper.  For embellishment, I added a bow that I made out of brand new CTMH Black Striped Twill Ribbon and I finished it off with two bling accents from my most favorite embellishment pack, CTMH Bling Gems Gold Assortment.  They are so sparkly, and best of all, they come 72 to a pack for only $3.95!
Thank you for visiting me on the blog hop!

What a Hoot - CTMH August 2014 Stamp of the Month

Joyful Stars July Blog Hop - CTMH Jubilee Card

Thank you for hopping with the Joyful Stars!!!  If you arrived here from
Helen's blog, you are on the right track.

As the month of July draws to a close, so does the Close To My Heart Spring/Summer Idea Book.  All of our lovely paper packs will be departing to make way for NINE, yes NINE new paper lines.  They are amazing, I promise you, but I will truly miss many that we have right now.  Here is a card that I made as we get ready to say goodbye to "Jubilee"... the quintessential summer paper if you ask me.  Here is a better view of all the Jubilee graphic papers.  (Six sheets of coordinating cardstock are also included for a total of 12 sheets.)

To make the card I used the stamp set from the Jubilee Workshop on the Go.  This kit includes not only a full paper packet, but also everything else you see below.

Additionally, I used the CTMH Artiste Cricut cartridge to make the daisies, and Colonial White ink on Black Cardstock to stamp the sentiment.

I hope that you enjoyed this stop on the Joyful Stars blog hop.  Please visit soon as I have a few AMAZING layouts featuring Jubilee in a way you have never seen it!  Up next on the hop is the very talented Krista Hershberger. See you next month!

Julie's Jubilee

As we approach July 4th, I wanted to share something special with you.  My dearest friend Julie, also a CTMH consultant, created these wonderful projects from our CTMH Jubilee paper packet and Jubilee Complements.  (They will only be available for a short time now, so be sure to order them while you can.)  These projects really feel like Americana to me!  And I was blessed when I received all of these projects in the mail back in January when I wasn't feeling so well, as a gift from Julie.  I have met many great friends through Close To My Heart, but Julie and I really got to bond during our time at CTMH's Disney World Convention last year.  Thanks, Julie, for letting me share your artwork!

What to get the In-laws????

I have finally solved one of life's biggest mysteries!!!  What to get the in-laws that have everything.  They don't need any more silly clutter, and K Cups are kind of boring lol!  It couldn't be easier really.  Want in on my secret?  Here's the story..
My in-laws moved all the way to Florida nearly 10 years ago.  We don't get to see them that often, and our 4 kids are growing up so quickly.  At times, it can be nearly a year between visits.  So, from now on, I am providing them with a means to keep up with the kids while simultaneously providing them with something to brag about with their fellow Villagers.  My gift to them arrives on their doorstep, with $5.95 flat rate shipping.
 Any guesses?
I have decided to create Studio J layouts that they can put into the scrapbook that I bought for them.  They can show it off to their friends whenever they want.  This batch of layouts features our 2013 trip to Disney, where they spent some time with us.

First up is a layout of my husband and his brother and some of the (grand)kids...

The second layout features my in-laws, Carol and Ed, along with my husband and four kids...

The last layout I will share with you is my favorite, and not because I am in it!  It is more the memory that it holds for our family.  You see, Carol and Ed aren't nearly the Disney Fanatics that we are.  They drove down to have dinner at O'Hana with us.  Guess what?  They loved the food, atmosphere, and family experience.  I won't say they caught the Disney bug, but I think they might now understand what brings us back year after year.

Would you like to create your own layouts?  Interested in giving some as gifts like I have done?  You can begin by going to my website and creating an absolutely free, no strings attached account.  There are countless CTMH paper packs and patterns to customize your own layouts.  Here is the link:
Each two paged layout is only $6.95 to purchase, and 4 to 50 of them ship for a flat rate of only $5.95.
